October 4, 2012 Club Meeting
Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 7:00 PM Red Cross Building, 60 Hawthorne St., Medford, OR (across from Hawthorne Park)
Program: Ham Stations of the Rogue Valley, Jack Schock, WA7IHU
As we discussed in May, the club has decided to sell all of the older equipment that is no longer useful for Field Day. It was decided that club members should have the first opportunity to purchase any of it. Therefore, the equipment will be on display at the October meeting for sale to club members only. If more than one member is interested in a particular piece of equipment, a simple lottery can be performed to determine the purchaser. Whatever is left over will be sold online.
At the October meeting an officer nominating committee will be named. New officers will be elected at the November meeting and installed at the December event.
Our presentation at the October meeting will be delivered by our secretary Jack Schock, WA7IHU. Jack will be presenting a slide show featuring various ham shacks in the Rogue Valley.

The club decided at the June meeting to move our annual equipment swapmeet from January to September. So bring your valuable, not so valuable, and ‘honey, it’s really gotta go’ equipment to the September 6th club meeting.
If you have enough equipment to cause a gravitational singularity in your neighborhood, here’s the perfect opportunity to redistribute all that mass and make a little money at the same time.

Here are some of the topics that have been raised for discussion at our February meeting by our Vice President Scott Cummings, KD7EHB:

- That sufficient funds be allocated from the general fund to obtain a quantity of QSL cards for W7DTA with the club call sign trustee to act as QSL manager for paper requests.
- That a position be discussed and created for a Public Information Officer of the club with nomination of interested club members to fulfill that position.
- Cause the formal formation of the 2012 Field Day Planning Committee with at-least three members involved and a budget allocation to be discussed and voted on.
- Formal invitation to JCARES to participate in Field Day.
Also Lud, KB2EVN suggests we discuss changing the order of our meetings. For example, having the presentation first and then social time to follow.
