The RVARC club meeting will be held TUESDAY, September 1st at 7:00 PM at the Jacksonville Library, 340 W C St., Jacksonville, Oregon.

The program will be a recap of this summers’ SOTA campout presented by Amy Haptonstall, AG7GP and other attendees.

This meeting or event is not sponsored nor endorsed by the Library.

RVARC Meeting Minutes 2026-09-01

7:02pm Meeting called to order by Pres. Haptonstall

It was announced that the club’s 2026 Field Day score was 2908 points.

A question was posed about whether the December meeting should be a special potluck, perhaps even changing the date to a Saturday, if preferred. Tom, N5EG, offered to host at his place, if needed.

7:10pm Treasurer’s Report: $6104.27 in the bank, with $65 cash dues on hand.

Bruce, KG7TUO, announced that Quartzfest 2027 will take place from January 17 to January 23, 2027, in Quartzsite, Arizona

7:15pm Presentation on the SOTA W7O/PNW Campout by Amy Haptonstall, AG7GP.

The 2026 SOTA Campout was held July 9th-12th, 2026 at Crane Prairie Campground in Central Oregon. There were 77 operators, including the Brass Knuckle Gang, from places like Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Colorado, and Connecticut, working 2M-FM, CW, SSB, and even SSTV. Some folks were working on their Mountain Goat goals.

Amy showed many pictures of the operators, summits, and campground activities. There was much sharing by others, including TJ (KK7LVA), Allan (K7GT), and Shannon (KM7GBK). Amy announced that the 2027 Campout might be held at Howard Prairie, so stay tuned for news.

8:00pm End Presentation. Break for visiting, coffee, and snacks.
