The RVARC club meeting will be held Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 PM at the Jacksonville Library, 340 W C St., Jacksonville, Oregon. Our speaker will be Bill Ostrander, N7AGX, who will present on Vintage Homebrewing Radio.

2025-09-04 RVARC Meeting Minutes

15 Attendees

6:57pm Meeting called to order by VP Allan Taylor, K7GT.

Bruce Cook, KG7TUO, mentioned that there will be a license class & exam on Sept. 20 at the 920 Summit Ave location.

Pat Cunningham, N7UH, reported the 2025 Field Day results: 4228 total points, with contact counts of 123 CW, 17 Digital, and 751 Phone.

Treasurer’s Report: $5769.27 bank balance, after $200 club insurance payment.

7:35pm Presentation: Vintage Homebrewing Radio, by Bill Ostrander, N7AGX

Bill has been into amateur radio equipment since age 8, and recently has been building homebrew transmitters, receivers, power supplies, and preamps. Constructing from scratch entailed hole-punching chassis’, & front panels, and painting in the classic wrinkle-paint texture. Several of the units were on display, with some live demonstrations, as well.

8:10pm end presentation.

Lively discussion followed.
