March 2, 2023 Club Meeting
Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 7:00 PM Medford Police Department Community Room, 219 S. Ivy St., Medford, OR
Program: Vintage Military Radios, Lud Sibley, KB2EVN; Winter Field Day wrap-up, Amy Haptonstall, AG7GP, and/or John Layborne, AC7S
The program will be on vintage military radios (Japanese, British, Soviet) with some show-and tell. Lud is a well-known collector and historian of radios and components.
Amy and/or John will present a wrap-up of the recent Winter Field Day (WFD).
Don has announced the next amateur radio test session as March 2nd. The doors open at 5:15. This is just prior to the regular March club meeting, and held at the same location, the Medford Police Department Community Room, 219 S. Ivy St. in Medford.

RVARC Meeting Minutes 2023-03-02
7:03pm Meeting called to order by President Don Bennett, KG7BP. There were 27 attendees, including guests.
Treasurer’s report: $5399.02 bank balance + pending membership deposits, giving a total of $5414.02
Scott, NA7OM mentioned 7QP is the 1st weekend in May, so it’s time to get organized.
Amy, AG7GP, said Jackson County Parks wanted to work with the club regarding Agate Lake for a contest venue. Tom, N5EG, asked the ARRL Division Director if they could raise its insurance limit. Answer was: no.
Scott, NA7OM, said he might talk to Steve Lambert (JCParks) regarding the insurance situation.
Van: What about Frohnmayer Park?
Mike: How about a location with extra point possibilities?
Scott nominated Pat, N7UH, to head the 7QP Committee, with Amy, AG7GP, as alternate. The vote was unanimous for Amy as committee lead. Amy: consider John’s location (AC7S) also. Scott said that Agate Lake was a good location for contesting.
Bruce said that perhaps Sam’s Valley would make a good Field Day location, and there was a free 28’ tower available.
7:28pm Two Presentations for tonight: Amy on Winter Field Day, and Lud on Antique Equipment from WWII & Korean War.
7:53pm Break for snacks and visiting.
8:58pm Meeting Adjourned.
