Program: 3D Printing with Amateur Radio Applications, Larry Clark, K7LJC

The February program will be on 3D printing with Ham Radio applications, This was rescheduled from December.

The program will be on 3D printing. Larry has developed some projects with Amateur-Radio specific 3D items and projects.

RVARC Meeting Minutes 2023-02-02

7pm: President Don Bennett, KG7BP, called meeting to order. There were 22 attendees

Visitors introduced: Ed Santa Maria, KK7JBV, and Scott Seufert, KK7JAD

Scott, NA7OM, got the club callsign (K7MFR) updated on the ARRL website.

Don mentioned a successful Winter Field Day at Brickpile Ranch, thanks to AG7GP, NA7OM, AC7S, KG7BP.

Lud commented that only one of 20 antique radios mentioned in a recent QST article actually had hot chassis, and no corrections have appeared so far.

7:10pm Treasurer’s report from Mike Bach, WB6FFC: $5172.02 bank balance plus one dual membership pending deposit.

7:12pm Presentation on 3D-printing for amateur radio by Larry Clark, N7LJC.

Larry gave a talk and slide presentation going over relevant terminology, filament types and suppliers, printer types and suppliers, build-plate types, modelling software, and helpful tips and tools.

He demonstrated various examples of 3D-printed items, such as battery box mounting jigs, scanner & meter holders, antenna-to-tripod adapters. Contact him for more info or possible copies of the slide deck.
