Program: Field Day wrap-up. Open discussion
There will be a wrap-up of our 2021 Field Day outing, hopefully including photos. Afterwards the meeting will open for general discussion.
Just when it seemed that we might be able to start getting back together in person at club meetings, the Delta variant of COVID-19 came roaring back. With the governor’s order requiring masks both indoors and outdoors and social distancing we will continue to meet via zoom.
Announced in the September 2021 issue of The Repeater.

One setup was for 20m: AB577 mast with Mosley TH tri-band antenna. 40m & 80m dipole antenna used another 40’ military mast. Ran at about 100-150 watts on K7MFR club call. Folks were happy with the site (with adjacent campground and outhouses)
Idea for October meeting topic: Online ARRL Antenna Field Strength Calculator (required at license renewal now, to certify RF FS compliance.)
John, AC7S: His neighbor and new ham Scott, kk7bpl (we think we miscopied this callsign), wanted to get involved and needed emergency frequency information.

New attendee, Arnold Winters, KD6SG, got to introduce himself. Now in Jacksonville, long time ham (since 1953) & VE. Welcome Arnold! He is looking for info on Yaesu 5200 tone capabilities.
Pat mentioned that some VEC communities are doing online license testing with digital submission of forms to the FCC and can get a test-to-license-grant turnaround of as short as 2 hours!
Pat remarked that his VE card is expired. Fred, AE7IM, mentioned that one’s VE cert is valid as long as your license is valid.
