Field Day 2021
For this month’s program we will discuss potential Field Day activities for the club. Our normal site has not yet been released for general use. Several members have been looking at possible locations in the Hyatt Lake area. With the higher altitude it might be cooler than our previous close-in (but down in the valley) locations.
This year the Field Day rule waivers put in place last year remain in effect. This allows home stations (Class D or E) to work other Class D or E stations. However in 2021 home stations are limited to 150 W PEP output.
In previous years we used a special 1x1 callsign. However this year we are looking at using our K7MFR call for Field Day. The club registered K7MFR in ARRL’s Logbook of The World (LoTW) recently, so we can QSL electronically using our FD logs.

The club field day location was selected: 7975 E. Hyatt Lake Rd. on the ballfield. RV and tent camping are available, and there were openings at the time of the club meeting. The club will be operating 2A.

Operating class 2A About 15 people at Hyatt Lake location. Mike Bach provided food and electricity. Much thanks, Mike!
One setup was for 20m: AB577 mast with Mosley TH tri-band antenna. 40m & 80m dipole antenna used another 40’ military mast. Ran at about 100-150 watts on K7MFR club call. Folks were happy with the site (with adjacent campground and outhouses)
