At the November meeting election of 2014 officers will take place. Nominations from the floor will be accepted (with prior agreement of the nominee) in addition to the nominees presented by the nominating committee.
At our meeting in November, Scott Cummings, NA7OM will present the topic “Operating above 50 MHZ in Southern Oregon”.

RVARC met Thursday November 7, 2013. Meeting called to order for the business meeting at 19:00 local time.
Visitors: Oyuky Taylor, KG7GKH; Glenn Gutshall, KG7FEA; Frank Peckatt (no call); Richard Doshier, KG7GKI; Jack Spiegel, N7BWG
Joe, AF7GN, needs PL259’s, dead or alive, for a class soldering exercise.
The proposed new slate of club officers was presented by Scott Cummings, VP. No positions were contested and all were elected by unanimous vote. The officers for 2014 are:
- Todd Carney, K7TFC President
- Allan Taylor, K7GT Vice President
- Carl Van Orden, W7BRO Secretary
- Lud Sibley, KB2EVN Treasurer
A line-item budget was presented by Lud, KB2EVN. It was accepted as a working point with only one adjustment: the ‘promotion’ entry of $400 was reduced to $200 after some discussion and appropriate concurrence from AF7GN. The amended budget proposes a deficit of about $235.
The Christmas party is set for Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the home of Tom McDermott, N5EG. Further details in the newsletter. Potluck, of course.
The featured presentation began at 20:00 and was given by Scott NA7OM. His topic was “The World above 50 MHz” (or something like that). It was directed at newly licensed ‘Tech’s and pointed out the multitudinous opportunities available in the VHF/UHF world. At the conclusion, the audience added current local VHF usage information.
Meeting adjourned at about 21:00.
