ARRL Field Days

Field Day is part educational event, part operating event, part public relations event – and ALL about FUN!

The objective of Field Day is to contact as many amateur stations as possible on any and all amateur bands (excluding the 60, 30, 17, and 12-meter bands) and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions.

For more information, see the ARRL Field Day page.

For 2017, the Rogue Valley Amateur Radio Club (RVARC), the Cascade Amateur Radio Enthusiasts (CARE), and the Jackson County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (JCARES) will have a combined field day at ScienceWorks in Ashland. See the June newsletter (‘The Repeater’, available on this website) for a map and site setup. We held a joint planning meeting June 1st during the RVARC club meeting.  We will use the call:  K7M  for our operation.  Current plans are to operate 3A, and to have a GOTA station and also VHF/UHF station. For more information please contact Mike Bach, WB6FFC, or leave a REPLY below. Visitors are especially welcome at Field Day, you can learn a lot of amateur radio.

Setup begins in the afternoon on Friday, June 23.  The actual operating event is from 11:00 AM PDT, Saturday, June 24 for 24 consecutive hours (finishing at 11:00 AM, Sunday, June 25).
